As of 2019, women make up 9.1% of the U.S. Construction workforce, and earn an average of 95.7% if what their make counterparts. This is above the national pay gap of 82%. From marketing and design to building science and executive level positions, female employees impact every area of residential building.
In the following pages, Construction Business Owner highlighted 20 remarkable women in the construction industry. CBO’s Outstanding Women in Construction drew nearly 200 nominations from industry leaders for women working in the office, in the field and everywhere in between, all over the United States and in myriad sectors of the industry. The women in this section represent some of the very best in the industry—each and every one is working to build a better environment for all who work in construction, regardless of gender, race or background.
